Sound the octo-alert! If you have an Octonauts fan at your place then you know where that quote comes from. My youngest adores watching the Octonauts on Disney Junior. If you asked him what character he liked most from Octonauts I'm sure he would say Captain Barnacles. Like many of the Disney Junior shows I was won over by the characters of Octonauts and knew that there would be no problem with allowing my boys to watch the show.
I wish I had the camera ready when I let baby B open the box of Disney's Octonauts Fisher-Price toys. I did get this shot of his face though. He's such a ham.
I was surprised that Little B (8) even wanted to join in on the fun with the Octonauts toys. Usually he says that the toys that his brother has are "baby" toys. He has even requested to play with the Octonauts toys at bath time! What could have the older brother wanting to play with "baby" toys? Maybe it's the cool Captain Barnacles & the Gup-D? It has a net that the kids can launch to help capture the manta (that changes color when in water) and a hose that you can attach from the gup to the captain to help him go for a dive to help the sea creatures. Or maybe it's the the Gup-C with Shellington. The Gup-C has a smokestack that works to help you search out the water squirting wale on the bottom of the tub ocean floor. On land you can roll the Gup-C around and drop anchor to help the creatures stranded out of water.
We also received Octonauts toys that included Tunip (I always thought the name was Turnip) and another with Kwazii Cat. ALl of the OCtonauts toys we received are good for land and sea play. They are all marked for ages 3+ and since my 8 year old enjoys them too I'm sure the age range is fairly wide. There are small pieces like the diving hose that would not be appropriate for little ones that like putting things in their mouth. Not that we have any problems getting my guys to take a bath but when they hear "Octonauts, to the launch bay" they are at the bathroom door ready to set out to sea on a bath time fun mission with the Octonauts crew. You can find the line of Octonaut toys at Toys R Us or online. Prices vary depending on the set and place of purchase.
