SwimWays started out our summer of swimming training with the Sea Squirts Swim Assist Vest. Then we were able to get my youngest in to the SwimWays Power Swimr system (progressive flotation device). We can slip the power swimr on to his chest and back and he is ready to splash around just like his big brother who took swim lessons to learn how to swim. Unlike the other floats and vests we have tried with him he didn't complain about having to wear the 'baby float'. He enjoys wearing the power swimr. The SwimWays Power Swimr is like training wheels for the water. It has 9 separate float pads that can help the child advance their swim level at their own pace. The more they are able to swim/float on their own the less float pads are needed inside the vest until your child is swimming all on their own with no pads. I like that with the Power Swimr Kyle has full motion of use of his arms. We had a vest last year that went over his arms and he couldn't get the stretch he needed to use his arms for swim strokes. We have used the power swimr from SwimWays at the pool and at the beach and my little guy has been able to stick with the older kids who can swim and not feel left out or "like a baby".

We are still using all 9 float pads right now but I believe with the swim time he has had that I can remove a pad or two and see how he does. His Power Swimr has given him the confidence he needed to get out there and try without any complaints of "I can't" or "I'm going to sink". I don't want him afraid of the water and thanks to the SwimWays Power Swimr he is water confident.

The SwimWays Power Swimr system comes in multiple colors and in sizes small, medium and large. The small is for ages 2-3 or 20-35 lbs. The medium is for 35-55 lbs or 3-6 year olds and the large is for Depending on where you buy them the price range is about $20-$25 which is a good price for the product (in my opinion).
