Thanksgiving is in a week and a half. I've realized recently that no matter how bad you think things are, you can always find something to be thankful for. If you had to list 5 things you are thankful for today how easily would you be able to come up with a list?
I'm thankful for my friends and family that have helped me survive after my separation. I learned that during my lowest of lows that true friends will be there for you even if you haven't spent time with or talked to them in a while.
I'm thankful for my boys. Nine years ago I had no clue where my life was headed. I still don't really know where I'm headed but I do my best to be a good mother every day. I went from a young girl who didn't know how to survive on her own to a woman keeping not only herself but also two other humans alive and well. The birth of my oldest son felt kind of like a rebirth of myself.
I'm thankful for my sense of humor. If I didn't have the ability to laugh at things so easily (including myself) I wouldn't know what to do with myself some days.
I'm thankful for my self taught talent of cake decorating. I love cake decorating. It's my 'happy place'. I make cakes for my boys and some family members but I don't do it as a business or anything. It's funny how well I feel I can decorate with icing and fondant but can't draw worth a lick on paper. My work isn't anything I consider to be spectacular but I can say (in a non conceded way) that my cakes are usually good.
I'm thankful for the opportunities that being a blogger has brought me. I have done a lot of work with my blog over the last 6-7 years. I've worked with many brands and PR reps and learned a lot about myself as I open up to the world via the internet and social media. I have always been able to write (type) better than I can speak so my blog allows me to be me and share that with all of y'all.
I'm thankful for small, simple things like being able to enjoy some chocolate (like my 100 calorie Popsicle Fudgesicles) without ruining my hard work towards my weight loss goals.
I am extremely thankful and grateful for all of the Mama Bee Does readers and social media fans. Without all of you I would probably be in a corner somewhere in the fetal position, rocking back and forth talking to the dust bunnies. I have received a lot of blog lovin' over the years from y'all and I appreciate each of you and hope that you will continue to hang out with me.
