ME!!!!!!This week has been a much better week for me than last week or the few weeks before that. I've been more determined this week. Not just because I want to look good on my 5 year anniversary in a month but because I want to be healthier. I need to be healthier. I didn't realize just how much my oldest son (who is only 5) wants to be like his mommy. The other day we are sitting at the kitchen table eating lunch and he grabs his belly and says," I think I need to exercise and lose some pounds". he had over heard a conversation my husband and I were having days before. This made me very sad. To think that I've been so wrapped up in just the losing weight part that I have not shown him the want to get healthy side of why I'm trying to lose some extra weight. He by no means needs to lose any weight. According to the Dr. (and our Wii fit game) he needs to gain some weight. He takes after his Daddy who is 6' and skinny as a toothpick though. I don't want my children growing up thinking that they'll only be accepted in society by being the thinnest they can be. I want them growing up thinking that eating healthy food and playing outside are both fun and good for them.
I won't deny that I do want to lose weight just as much as I want my kids to eat healthy foods and get plenty of exercise for the minds and bodies. I'm about 15 lbs from being a "normal" weight for my age/height/build. So right now I'm still "over weight". It stinks though. I started out my weight lose journey at a size 14 (189 lbs to be exact) and when I went shopping at Old Navy on Friday I was able to buy a skirt that is a size 10! I know it's not supposed to be just about lbs and inches lost but more about how I feel but let me tell you it felt GREAT to fit in that size 10 without having my belly poking out over the waist or not being able to get it buttoned once I got it on. So over all this past week has been a very good one for me. A small victory for me but still a victory none the less even if I have celebrated it alone. That's a whole different post there though...
Challenges this past week:
Getting all my water intake down
Staying away from the biscuits at Cracker Barrel
Showing my 5 yr old what being healthy is really about
Success for the past week:
I lost 5 lbs
Down to a size 10 (started out a 14)
Exercised every day
stuck to my WW plan most days
