I am a daily weigher. On days that I would have a loss I would 'reward' myself by allowing myself to eat more or eat off plan then on days that I had a gain I would push myself to the limits as punishment for the gain. I had a complete love/hate relationship with my old scale. Well not really the brand scale its self but the fact that I had based my days on a number. I wasn't completely happy either way loss or gain with a number staring back at me. I didn't want to make myself a number. I just wanted to be healthy and happy.
The past couple weeks I have had a new health buddy. I introduce you to the Zero Scale from Great Valley Innovations. Why the Zero Scale? The Zero Scale is a bathroom scale that only shows the loss/gain that you have instead of a total weight number (unless you want to sneak a peak). I'm no longer a number!
The Zero Scale offers a sleek (thin) design with a 1.3 inch LCD display screen. There is a weight capacity of 397 pounds. It offers memory for 4 users and there is also a guest mode. The set up for the Zero Scale was fast and easy. I put 4 batteries in the scale, chose pounds instead of kilograms and set the Zero Scale out on our linoleum bathroom floor.
It's a good thing I didn't get rid of our other scale. Baby B likes to see how much muscle he has and he kept using the "cool scale" and throwing my weigh in off. I gave him the other scale for his own use so hopefully he'll leave the Zero Scale alone so I can use it all myself. I finally had to move the scale to under my bed (hardwood flooring) and pull it out when I want to use it and then put it back where he doesn't know where it is.
The Zero Scale came to me just in time for the holidays and who am I kidding I enjoy all the meals that come with that time. I don't over indulge but I do eat my fair share. With the time that I have been using the Zero Scale I don't know what my starting weight was I haven't peaked the first time yet (I have surprised myself there). I do know that I have gained 4 lbs since I've been using it without getting a 100 lb. gain from the user number 1 going from me to little 50 lb. Baby B back to me. I am enjoying not worrying about the over all number of my weight but at the short term goals of losing a small amount of weight during a specific amount of time. Once I get past my baking month overhaul of December I will get back to my normal days of eating and getting to a healthier me.
If the Zero Scale sounds like a scale that would work for you, you can purchase the Zero Scale for $59.95 + $10.95 s&h BUT if you use coupon code zero at checkout you can get 15% off your first purchase with Zero Scale.
