You are thinking about taking the family to Disney World but you are not sure that there are options for gluten free kid friendly food at Walt Disney World. If I said to you- Oh, Disney is great when it comes to allergies and dining, would you find yourself wondering just how great the gluten free/friendly options really are? I have a list for you to help navigate the dining options at the parks for popular kid friendly foods.
gluten free kid friendly food at Walt Disney World
There are so many gluten free options around the Disney parks, Disney resorts, and Disney Springs. When we took all four of the kids and all the grandparents to WDW, I spent weeks looking at menus to make sure the reservations we chose had gluten friendly options for those who needed them. We had no trouble finding table service or quick service meals and snacks that were gluten free everywhere we went on Disney property! I have broken down my list of kid friendly gluten free food choices by park and food type. If you have any questions or concerns about a particular food option or have other allergies to account for while visiting Walt Disney World, please ask to speak to the chef, manager, or knowledgeable cast member. They will gladly assist you. They want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their meals (safely) while on vacation.
Magic Kingdom gluten free kid friendly food
Magic Kingdom has a lot to offer in gluten free table service restaurants for a variety of foods to enjoy. If you are looking for burgers you can find them at Cosmic Ray's and The Plaza. If you're looking for chicken nuggets you can try Columbia Harbor House, Pinocchio Village Haus, and Skipper Canteen. Gluten friendly french fries? You can get those at Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's, Pinocchio Village Haus, The Plaza, and Skipper Canteen. You can find gluten friendly pasta at Cosmic Ray's or Tony's Town Square. Pizza can be found at Pinocchio Village Haus and if your kids love tacos you can get gluten free tacos at Pacos Bill.
EPCOT gluten free kid friendly food
Regal Eagle (one of my favorite spots to eat in EPCOT) has gluten free burgers, chicken nuggets, and french fries. Another place to get chicken nuggets and/or french fries is Connections Eatery. If your kids want pasta you can find that at Tutto Italia (in Italy) or Via Napoli (in Italy). If you're in need of tacos then you can visit La Cantina de San Angel (in Mexico). Unfortunately if you're looking for gluten free pizza at EPCOT you are out of luck. You'll have to take the skyliner to Topolino's for the closest gf pizza.
Hollywood Studios gluten free kid friendly food
If you're rope dropping or park hopping to Disney's Hollywood Studios you have options for gluten free kid friendly food here as well. Burgers can be found at 50's Prime Time, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Rosie's All American, and Sci-fi Dine-in. Chicken nuggets can be found at 50's Prime Time, Backlot Express, Docking Bay 7, and Rosie's All American. Fries can be found at 50's Prime Time, Backlot Express, Rosie's All American, and Sci-fi Dine-in. There's one place for pasta and that's Mama Melrose. If pizza is on the menu then you can visit Catalina Eddie's, PizzeRizzo, or Mama Melrose. One of my daughter's favorite foods is grilled cheese (without the crust). You can get grilled cheese at ABC Commissary or Woody's Lunchbox. My daughter LOVES Woody's Lunchbox.
Looking for gluten free Mickey waffles or other gluten free Disney snacks?
Don't let being gluten free make you feel like you can't experience the enjoyment of the Mickey waffle. You can find gluten free Mickey waffles at 9 out of 10 resorts that service breakfast. If you are inside the parks you will NOT find Mickey waffles at any quick service places like Sleepy Hollow. You will have to grab a reservation for one of the table service restaurants to find gluten free waffles.
Gluten free Disney churros?
It is very important to note that not all churros at Walt Disney World are gluten free! You can only find the gluten free churros at Nomad Lounge in Disney's Animal Kingdom or Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Disney's Coronado Springs resort.
Gluten free beignets?
You can find the delicious gluten free beignets at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter resort at Scat Cat's Club- Cafe.
Dole Whips are gluten free
Yes, Dole Whip is gluten free (without a cone). The classic pineapple soft-serve is delightfully simple and you don't have to make a lot of extra requests to get it gluten free. If you want the pineapple Dole Whip you can grab one at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, Refreshment Outpost in EPCOT, Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs, Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Village resort, and Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Disney's Animal Kingdom. If you want the orange Dole Whip you'll find those at Sunshine Terrace in Magic Kingdom (along with the strawberry one) or at Trilo-Bites in Animal Kingdom (orange flavor only).
Mickey Ice Cream Bars are also gluten free
The Mickey Bars are gluten free and can be found around all the parks at most kiosks. The vanilla ice cream treat coated in a hard chocolate shell is in the shape of Mickey's head and we all know that Mickey shaped treats just taste better, right?
Other places to visit if you have a sweet tooth but also have a gluten allergy? Give Sprinkles Cupcakes and Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC a try. You can find both of those in Disney Springs.
