Yeap it's that time again, Mamavation Monday. What is Mamavation?
The Mamavation campaign takes two moms and puts them through an all-virtual healthy living boot camp organized by Leah Segedie (@bookieboo). Each mom is tasked with learning healthy living so they can implement what they have learned within their family and inspire other moms online.
The Mamavation Campaign is sponsored by Earth Footwear, Smooth Fitness and EA Sports Active. I tried out for a Mamavation Moms spot last campaign and didn't make the cut and since we'll be traveling I can't apply this round. Maybe Round 5 will be my ticket? Or maybe I'll be at my goal weight by then? I have been wanting a pair of Earth Footwear Exer-Walk shoes for a while. They are supposed to help you burn 4x more fat than an ordinary shoe. Maybe I can sweet talk Daddy B into getting me a pair for our anniversary next month? He's all about me getting healthy and I need a new pair of workout shoes anyways so he wouldn't be wasting any money.
Now on to my week. I guess I should first recap a little for any new Sistas that may visit. Baby B was born January 6, 2008. I gained 75 lbs with that pregnancy. I slowly got my weight down to 189 lbs. Still being over weight for my age/ height I needed to figure out why I wanted to be healthier and how to go about getting there. I started back to doing Weight Watchers, we don't have the extra $$$ for me to rejoin Curves so I have been making do with what I do have. I was given the wii fit, EA Sports Active, and Golds Gym Cardio Fitness wii games. I also have Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds and Biggest Loser workout dvds and my most recent dvd addition is Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. With these tools and with support of my family and Sistas I have been working on getting my entire family on a healthier way of life. You can read my previous weeks of Mamavation Monday.
When I joined the Sistahood and started following along with the Mamavation Moms I weighed 179 lbs. I had a 10 lb gain a couple weeks ago and finally kicked that and was back to 179 lbs. Last week I lost 5 lbs. bringing me down to 174.0 lbs. This week? I'm down to 171.8 So that's another 2.2 lbs lost! I've made it a week through the 30 Day Shred and man oh man does Jillian really know how to kick yous ass into gear! I'm thinking Im ready to go to level 2 this week. See how I can hold on.
Oh, oh! Last week I mentioned Little B talking about he needed to lose some pounds, well Ive seen a big change in him and Baby B the past week. They both chose grapes and strawberries over the chocolate chip cookies that Daddy was eating. He asked them if they wanted some and both said no, then asked for the fruit without it being offered! That made me oh so happy. Then they ate most of MY broccoli the other night at dinner. A 2 and 5 yr old that likes broccoli? I didn't know that was possible.
So my success?
I lost another 2.2 lbs bringing my total weight lost to 17.2 lbs.
Little B and Baby B are choosing fruit/veggies over chocolate treats, now to convert Daddy B (challenge) lol!
Still doing great with my WW's
Exercised 6 out of 7 days (took today off b/c my arms are sore from boxing yesterday)
Went grocery shopping and have my week of meals planned out (menu planning keeps me in line)
My challenges?
Still not getting in enough water everyday (darn you Diet Dr Pepper!) =). Im going to try and drink half of my weight in water so this coming week I'll be aiming for about 85-86 oz a day. I think I can. I think I can. I have a 32 oz water bottle so it shouldn't be so difficult for me to drink my water like I should.
Not much of a challenging week I don't guess so that makes me happy. To get into the normal range BMI, I still need to lose another 15 lbs. That would put me down to about 156 lbs. I weighed 160 when I get pregnant with Baby B so I'd be happy to get there again. Not just to be smaller but I was happier then too. Ain't nobody happy if Mama ain't happy 😉 I've been trying to think of rewards for reaching mini goals but no such luck yet. I guess just the feeling that I have knowing I (and my family) are getting healthy has been enough reward. I still want those Earth Footwear Exer-Walks though! *Raises water bottle* Here's to another healthy week! So... how you doin'?
